THE AFFILIATED PARTNERS OF STROMSPAR-CHECK KOMMUNAL

DEUTSCHER CARITASVERBAND E.V.

The Deutsche Caritasverband (DCV) is the welfare association of the Catholic Church in Germany. The DCV was founded in 1897 by the Catholic priest Lorenz Werthmann as the umbrella organisation for various initiatives and groups, some of which had been active for a long time.
27 Diocesan Caritas Associations, about 600 regional, local and district Caritas Associations and social advise centres, 17 charitable professional associations as well as congregations and organisations in Germany provide aid for people in need.
The 25,000 Caritas facilities for health care, youth, family, geriatric care, and care for the disabled as well as the facilities for assistance in social emergencies and institutions for qualification and advanced training employ almost 520,000 people full-time and part-time.
Furthermore, another 500,000 people do voluntary work at the Caritas facilities. They advise, nurse, and care for approximately one million people daily.
The mission of the Gospel and of the Catholic Social Teachings manifests itself in their commitment for the unemployed. Developing and promoting relief programmes for unemployed people is the purpose of the Katholische Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Integration durch Arbeit (IDA), which is part of the Deutsche Caritasverband. With the Stromspar-Check project it contributes to building bridges for reintegrating disadvantaged people into the workforce.

ASSOCIATION OF ENERGY AND CLIMATE PROTECTION AGENCIES IN GERMANY (EAD)

The Association of Energy and Climate Protection Agencies in Germany (eaD) is the national advocacy group for the regional and local agencies for energy and climate protection.

It promotes cooperation and exchange among its member organisations and combines and represents their interests on the national level in political institutions, parties, other associations, and the media. Currently, the eaD has 39 member organisations.

The members of the eaD counsel public authorities, the economic sector, and consumers about energy saving potentials. For each customer they develop individual services to minimize the use of energy. As a pacemaker for the turnaround in energy policy they specifically implement the goals of energy and climate protection policies with their projects and campaigns on the regional and local level on a daily basis.
